https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxPHcMXsZno PLA Spring Motor Demonstrator 2 is a cutting-edge Autodesk Fusion 360 design that builds upon my original PLA Spring Motor Demonstrator created five years ago. The pioneering PLA Spring Motor Demonstrator was designed as a "proof of concept" tool to test whether a 3D printed PLA spring could power a gear train and propel a vehicle. This successful experiment paved the way for me to develop numerous 3D printed PLA spring powered vehicles. This upgraded version boasts a 1 (drive) to 125 (driven) gear ratio in three distinct gear stages, making it even more efficient. As evident from the side-by-side comparison photograph, this updated design is slightly smaller than its predecessor. To enhance strength and longevity, I opted for Ultimaker "Tough PLA" for the pawl, spring, and frames. PLA Spring Motor Demonstrator 2 is a straightforward print and assembly process, making it an enjoyable desktop conversation piece despite being originally designed as a proof of concept tool. As always, I may have overlooked some files or details, so please don't hesitate to point out any mistakes you notice.
