https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxPHcMXsZno\r\nPLA Spring Motor Demonstrator 2 is a cutting-edge Autodesk Fusion 360 design that builds upon my original PLA Spring Motor Demonstrator created five years ago.\r\nThe pioneering PLA Spring Motor Demonstrator was engineered as a "proof of concept" tool to test whether a 3D printed PLA spring could power a gear train and propel a vehicle. Following its successful test, I designed numerous 3D printed PLA spring powered vehicles that showcased the innovative technology.\r\nThis upgraded version boasts a robust 1 (drive) to 125 (driven) gear ratio in three distinct stages and, as seen in the side-by-side comparison photograph, is slightly more compact than the original. Notwithstanding its intended purpose as a proof of concept tool, I opted for Ultimaker "Tough PLA" for the pawl, spring, and frames to provide additional strength and durability.\r\nPLA Spring Motor Demonstrator 2 offers an effortless printing and assembly experience, making it an engaging desktop conversation piece despite being originally designed as a proof of concept tool. As always, I may have overlooked certain files or details, so please don't hesitate to point out any questions or mistakes, which are plentiful in my case.\r\nThis design was created using Autodesk Fusion 360, sliced with Cura 3.5.0, and printed in PLA and Tough PLA on an Ultimaker 2+ Extended and an Ultimaker 3 Extended.
