PLA Spool Mount

Introducing an alternative spool holder for Makerbot Replicator 1 designed for wider spools with smaller holes. Recently, I visited Protospace fablab in Utrecht, Netherlands, where they used Ultimaker printers with PLA filament. The air quality was much better than my ABS-printing studio. With a PLA roll at hand, I decided to give it a try but encountered a size issue. To solve this, I modified the ABS mount on my Makerbot Replicator 1 to create a thinner holder. This mount accommodates rolls with a hole diameter of 3cm (1.18in) and a thickness of 9cm (3.54in). The Blender 3D file is included for easy customization. Print the two halves, then fasten them together using tie-wraps through small holes in the design.
