PLA Polishers

Don't you just hate those little burrs and blobs that you get on the top surface of your otherwise perfect prints? Or those edges that have come out just a little too sharp with excess filament? I do - so I found myself using some off-cut support material with a grid to polish them, without ruining their surface sheen. Then I thought, Why Not Make Some Expicity? So here are the models - they are ideal at smoothing surfaces, and they won't scrape away Teh Shiny.Use a softer PLA (ie. not PLA+!) as you want these to be less hard than the prints you are polishing, that's why I used some nearly-finished Silk PLA.To get the effect, use your slicer's infill as follows:Walls - 3Top - 5 (for the handles)Bottom - 0 (to expose the infill)Infill - 40% GridSparse infill Line Width - 2 x nozzle diameter (eg. 0.8 mm for 0.4 mm nozzle)Resize them as you see fit, broader, narrower, thicker, thinner etc. And when they wear out - just print some more!Enjoy!EdinBearDragon
