Revamped Emmett's Screwless Heart Gears pins for PLA compatibility! Initial attempts with flexible end tabs failed due to short gear heart axle. In version 2, improved tip flexibility and protrusion design for a firm hold with moderate force. The pins are compatible with Makerware, ReplicatorG, and Skeinforge. To install, simply replace the original pins with the downloaded PLA-gear-heart-pins.stl file. For optimal printing, use at least 0.2mm layer height, 3 shells, and 15% infill in Makerware, or 0.1mm outer surface finish using ReplicatorG's skin module. If starting from scratch, print the two PLA heart gear plates - PLA-gear-heart-plate1.stl and PLA-gear-heart-plate2.stl, which include snap-off ear raft print aids for small gears to prevent breaking loose during printing.
