PLA Gear Kit
thingiverse
Introducing my new OpenSCAD PLA gear kit with custom-designed flexible pin connectors for seamless PLA compatibility. The kit features interchangeable gear center and pins while keeping the outer shells as changeable components. This simplifies the creation of diverse gear object combinations. Enjoy! A recent update, dated August 31, 2013, addresses issues with loose pins caused by certain PLA colors. Two new pin plates with 0.2mm and 0.4mm thicker diameters have been added to resolve this problem. To use the kit, modify the object_file in the SCAD source file for customized STL objects. Adjust the object scale using the object_scale variable as needed. Uncomment individual module calls at the top of the file to check behavior before creating the stl object. Use make all on the command line to build all plates simultaneously, especially on Mac with OpenSCAD. For Windows users, adjust the SCAD path in the Makefile accordingly. Note that OpenSCAD is particular about well-formed STL objects centered at (0,0,0) for successful processing.
