PLA FAN Normally I print with ABS and PET-G, but they have their own problems. They're not cheap materials to waste, and printing with them takes much more time. It's also not recommended to cool them down, which is why my printers don't have cooling fans for the printed material. My BIG DIY 3D Printer is huge, so printing big objects takes even more time. Plus, it's more expensive if a print fails. That's why I decided to print with PLA on my BIG DIY 3D Printer. This fan was designed to solve that problem. I used four 30x30mm fans because I had them on hand. The fan is also adjustable for aiming the airflow. Kapton tape protects against heat, but it can lose its adhesive during printing. If I were to do this again, I'd probably skip the tape and just accept the temporary nature of the housing. This fan installs easily and takes up minimal space. After testing it, though, I realized it has one major drawback: it can only cool from one direction, which can cause prints to fail. If you have the space, I recommend checking out PLA FAN 2 on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2630552 See also: * BIG DIY 3D Printer: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2603668 * Easy Exchange Filament Extruder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2601366
