PLA FAN

PLA Fan Lover I normally print with ABS and PET-G, but these materials come with their own set of problems. They're not cheap to waste, and printing with them takes a lot more time. To cool it down is also not recommended. That's why I don't have cooling fans on my printers to cool the printed material. But my BIG DIY 3D Printer is so massive that printing big objects takes even longer. Plus, it's way more expensive if a print fails. For this reason, I decided to print with PLA on my BIG DIY 3D Printer. That's why I made this fan. I used four 30x30mm fans because I had them lying around. It's also adjustable for aiming the airflow. The kapton tape is there for protection against heat, but it can lose its grip during printing. So, that's something to keep in mind when using it. If I were doing this again, I probably wouldn't use the tape and just accept the temporary nature of the housing. This fan is easy to install and doesn't take up too much room. But after testing it out, I came to a conclusion - it has one major drawback. It can only cool from one direction, which can make the print fail. So, if you have the space, I recommend checking out PLA Fan 2. Check out my other projects: Easy Exchange Filament Extruder & BIG DIY 3D Printer
