PLA FAN

PLA Fan Normally I print with ABS and PET-G. These materials are great, but they come with their own set of problems. They're not cheap to waste, and printing with them takes a lot of time. It's also not recommended to cool them down. That's why my printers don't have cooling fans. But my BIG DIY 3D Printer is huge, so printing big objects takes even more time. And if a print fails, it's expensive. So I decided to switch to PLA on my BIG DIY 3D Printer. That's why I built this fan. I used four 30x30mm fans because they were what I had available. The airflow is also adjustable, so you can aim it where you need it. I added kapton tape for protection against the heat, but it's a problem - it can get damaged during printing. So keep that in mind when using it. If I did this again, I'd probably just skip the tape and accept the temporary housing. This fan is easy to install and takes up minimal space. But after testing it, I found one major drawback - it only cools from one direction, which can cause prints to fail. So if you have the space, I recommend upgrading to PLA FAN 2 instead.
