PLA FAN 2

PLA FAN 2

I made a second PLA fan because my first one could only cool from one side. This new fan has a much bigger housing, so it will take up more space. It's designed to spread the air 360 degrees around the nozzle without hitting it directly. The design is split into two parts with the advantage of being able to print the inside very smoothly. This reduces air resistance and increases airflow, also extending the fan's life and reducing noise. I printed this model in translucent PET-G so light from the LED on the bottom of the X wagon can shine through. There's already support material added to the main body that needs to be removed afterwards. The main body and lid are glued together at the outer ends. To mount this fan housing, I needed new brackets. The bracket near the timing belt also has an extra option for a "timing belt stabilizer". Long timing belts can vibrate like a guitar string, so this part helps by holding or touching the timing belt and removing vibrations. It uses three bearings with the specifications 623ZZ (10mm diameter x 4mm thick, 3mm bore). I highly recommend this for spiral vase mode.
