PLA compatible elliptical gear set

I have created a fully compatible elliptical gear set in herringbone gears using PLA material. I was unable to work with the original elliptical gear design because the pins kept breaking off when printed in PLA and ABS. This new design, however, works very well in PLA and has been put through extensive testing. Here's how it was created: The entire design is a complete overhaul of the original. I took inspiration from parkinbot's idea of gear cutting and incorporated mathematical principles of ellipse into my design. The toothed rack was rewritten to have only two teeth, making the design more efficient for Openscad's internal processing. To generate an outline of the gear required, you will need to use the file elliptic.scad. Save it as elliptic.stl and do not attempt to print it yet. Instead, insert the parameters a, b, and focus (which can be found in the terminal window of Openscad) into the parameters.scad file. Next, run gear1a.scad, which will import both elliptic.stl and parameters.scad and generate your gear using the difference() command. This 2-step process significantly speeds up rendering time and is more convenient for me. If you're interested in a mirrored version of this design, I've also included a twin project on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3177195
