PLA Chocolate Bunny Mold
thingiverse
The original STL files were utilized from the parent design; however, PLA was employed instead of smoothing. A derivative work was created to include images and comments. The creation was held together using rubber bands. Chocolate can be sourced at candy-making supply stores or Walmart's sugar aisle. A 24 oz brick of "Plymouth Pantry" Almond Bark is available for $2.88. After only 20 minutes in the freezer, the result was insufficient hardness; however, the definition and detail were excellent. The mold was cleaned with warm water and reloaded for a longer cooling period. No softening or warping occurred with PLA, even at a maximum temperature of 212 degrees F. Additional photos will be added once the creation is fully solidified. An overnight freezer stay isn't mandatory but accelerates hardening. The last four images are from the second attempt with an overnight-frozen mold. Shaking and tapping on a hard surface usually ensures complete filling if the chocolate is hot enough, even without a freezer.
