This 1kg PLA filament spool is compatible with an 8mm rod, similar to the design of my spool stand (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:28944). To assemble, simply print two centers and two spacers for each drum, all designed to fit perfectly on 8mm or 5/16" threaded rods.
