Centrifugal pump based on a torus design is what we're talking about here. Let's take a look at how similar pumps were designed in the past to see if there's any science behind this. How well does it work, you ask? Well, that remains to be seen. I added a new version of the files with some differences and changes. Scaling has been adjusted a bit, and now it includes a motor mount. I hope I got it sized correctly for brushless motors commonly used in R/C applications. If my measurements are accurate, it should be scaled within a factor of 10. However, that will depend on how your printer software handles the files. In the middle of the motor mount, there's a flared area that meets with the volute. This is intended for a simple gland seal made from waxed or grease-impregnated string. The wrap and clamping should only be tight enough to prevent leaks but not bind the motor shaft from turning. As you can imagine, this requires some trial and error. Before printing, it's essential to pre-check everything as usual. I've also exported .stl files from Blender for those who still need help opening them in that software. If there are any issues with the .stl files, I'm afraid I won't be much help beyond suggesting a change in scaling factor. For assembly suggestions, consider using self-tapping plastic screws or RTV or silicone sealer on the seating area of the volute perimeter. Hopefully, this will be obvious enough to those who decide to build it. If anyone does make this, please provide feedback so I can make some changes that might save drilling or attaching the motor easier.
