The Measurement Specialties 4525DO sensor in the Pixhawk digital differential airspeed sensor offers exceptional performance characteristics, boasting a negligible offset, impressive resolution, and most importantly, is unaffected by the signal degradation caused by lengthy cables and inconsistent ratios within the APM 2.6 analog airspeed sensor's output. Designed around a Measurement Specialties 4525DO sensor, which boasts a comprehensive 1 psi measurement range translating to speeds of approximately 100 m/s or 360 km/h or 223 mph, the Pixhawk Airspeed Sensor Kit allows for remarkable precision with an ultra-low resolution of 0.84 Pa. Leveraging data generated by a high-end 14 bit output from its embedded 24 bit delta-sigma ADC and incorporating measurements obtained from an MS5611 static pressure sensor onboard Pixhawk to facilitate calculations of true airspeed, the Pixhawk Airspeed Sensor Kit effectively determines true air temperature, which was inaccessible with prior analog setups. Unperturbed by thermal variations generated within adjacent components, this system maintains air temperature proximity unmatched in preceding solutions. This advanced solution is universally supported on all iterations of the Pixhawk and PX4 autopilot generation boards, accompanying its setup with standardized M3 / 6-32 mounting holes for hassle-free integration.
