To identify the root cause of a malfunctioning pixel, determine if it's the first defective pixel or the one preceding it. To assemble this setup, you'll need a #6 pan head screw and four needles/stick pins. Heat up the stick pins until they're pliable enough to be pushed through slots, leaving only the needle point exposed above the surface. This allows you to easily press the needle through the wire jacket of your pixels. Next, use bullet connectors and crimp them onto the needle for a secure connection. This setup enables you to test different 2811 pixels by simply plugging or unplugging the one in question. Be aware that heating up the needle makes it unsuitable for soldering, at least based on my experience. If you need to solder wire, keep this limitation in mind. When conducting tests, separate the wires and insert them into the grooves. Close the top and press down firmly until the needles are securely seated within the wire jacket. If the test pixel functions normally and illuminates as expected, it confirms that the defective pixel is located beyond the testing area. Conversely, if the test pixel malfunctions, it indicates that the issue lies with the preceding pixel. I'm currently working on measuring wire jackets to potentially eliminate the need for separating wires in this setup. Additionally, I plan to add a fourth groove for 2801 testing to expand the scope of this diagnostic tool.
