Pixel Strip Tile
thingiverse
This modular design allows an audience to install 48LEDs/m pixel strips beneath their feet. The creation process involved significant design, testing, and modification to ensure that the tile pieces interlock seamlessly with minimal post-processing repair needed. To reduce lifting on the edges, print disks were added, which will need to be sliced off after printing. A thin skirt is also included for the female side of the tiles, keeping dirt out of the joints between tiles without requiring trimming. Tiles can be removed from the printer, small disks taken off the corners, lined up with another tile, and a light tap should secure them in place. If you have multiple printers, ensure your tolerances are precise, as well as your X and Y sizing, or the tiles won't line up correctly with each other.
