Pixel String Hanger
thingiverse
I was trying to wrap pixel strings around palm trees with a 30' pole. I use a rope and pulley at the top of the trees to pull up the light strings, but then I needed something with no sharp edges for the pixels to get stuck on that was also wide enough to capture the string 30'+ above my head. (At 30 feet the pole that has a lot of flex, as does the palm tree.) I used the base of erichorn's customizable hanging tool, removed the existing prongs and substituted the half donut. I printed this flat with 30% infill to give the arc more linear strength, but that does make cleaning out the thread a challenge. It requires supports because the half ring is above the bed. The threads from erikhorn's thing worked fine on the end of my 30' aluminum pole, and fit firmly.
