Pivot Lever Belt Tensioner

Pivot Lever Belt Tensioner

thingiverse

The Pivot-Lever One-Piece Gripping One-Screw Tensioner features a scalable belt tensioner suitable for various belt sizes, orientations, and positions. Its sawtooth teeth on both sides of the channel effectively grip the belt, regardless of tooth direction. As tension increases, the flexible arm is pulled into the larger fixed arm, pinching the belt for enhanced grip. Made from ABS or PLA, this tensioner requires only one screw, one nut, and one cable tie for installation. To install, print an 8-32 (6-32 will work too) screw and nut. Loosely attach the screw to the nut. Feed the loose belt end through the S-curve and wrap it against the tensioner's teeth. Secure with a cable tie via the side slots and tighten around the loose end of the belt, while pinching the flexible arm and belt together. Adjust tension by pulling as tight as possible, with smaller belts requiring more cable tie tension to avoid slippage. Ensure the pivot rests against a printer's flat surface and fine-tune tension using the screw adjustment.
