There are two versions of the 3.5" PiTFT with varying dimensions, and I got my hands on the one with PID 2097, not the newer PID 2441. Consequently, the OctoPrint housing was unsuitable, but fortunately, I stumbled upon the Touch Pi housing (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:653291) from adafruit, which proved to be a game-changer. I tweaked the bottom STL file so that a Raspi3 could be securely mounted, and added blocks to ensure it stayed firmly on the wall. To my relief, there was ample space available, allowing me to add a switch for controlling the backlight. For more information, please visit www.weigu.lu.
