Piston Shift Knob (with or without) "Rat Rod Fever" text
thingiverse
This is an ongoing project, and I'm still learning the ropes when it comes to submitting files. I decided to create a shift knob that would feel more at home than what was available, so I took matters into my own hands and designed one myself. Recently, I printed this prototype using "Rust-able PLA" from Proto-Pasta to give it an ultimate character. My actual photo is of a test print, which you can zoom in on and notice is slightly too thin. For long-term use, the top, bottom, and outer thickness will be set at 0.4 mm. I've made it removable so it won't sit in the summer heat. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: Prusa Clone Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 mm layer Infill: 20% Notes: These settings are not confirmed yet. Post-Printing I just added the STL file that doesn't have text on top of the piston either. How I Designed This 123D Design No special design techniques were used.
