Piston Ring Expander
thingiverse
This is an uncomplicated piston ring expander tool. It's engineered to work with compression rings on pistons that measure 98mm (3.85in), yet I believe it would also be effective for compression rings on a piston ranging from 85mm to 105mm (3.85 +/- 0.5 in). The specific engine this tool is intended for is the AMC/Jeep 4.0L straight six-cylinder engine. I suspect that pistons of the same size are used in the AMC/Jeep 2.5L straight four-cylinder engine, but I'm not entirely certain. There are four parts that snap together seamlessly. The retaining ridge on each joint is substantial, so you may need to tap the pieces with a small hammer to ensure they fit together properly. Two of the small end pieces are required for this project. It's essential to note that these pieces should not be mirrored; instead, use the identical end pieces as specified in the design. Supports are necessary only during a limited portion of the printing process. Refer to the notes under "Print Settings" for more information.
