This tool helps ensure the piston ring is perfectly aligned with the engine's bore when checking its end gap. Using an old piston might work, but this tool makes it a lot easier. There are two versions available. The first one has a 105mm stub diameter that I used for file fitting my rings during engine build. Since designing out the honeycomb was complex, this version was included to simplify things. The second version is more straightforward with a 100mm stub diameter. You can use it for any bore size by simply scaling the X and Y axes in your slicer to match the required diameter.
