Piston Pen Holder
thingiverse
EDIT: I just uploaded a better ring (thinner) stl. It looks more realistic than the original ring. Both files will be available for download. I also just added a solid bottom insert. This eliminates the need to print a disc if using the piston with the holes in the top with the insert. Again, both the old and new stl files will be available for download. A few months ago I rebuilt a golf cart motor for a friend, and as a result of that, I had this old piston just laying around. I threw a few pens in it, but it really wasn't a good pen holder. So, I got the bright idea to model it in Fusion 360, and make a few modifications to make a decent pencil holder out of it. It turned out pretty well.... I designed it so that you can choose how you want to use it. You can print out the version with holes in the top of the piston, and use it in the upright position, or print out the solid top piston, with the insert, and use it in the upside down position. The latter being my preference. You could also print out the version with the holes in the top, and the insert then use it either way you want. Although, you'd need to print out a disc to put under the insert to keep the pens from going through the piston's holes on the top if you decide to go that route.
With this file you will be able to print Piston Pen Holder with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Piston Pen Holder.
