The Piston on a Scale is a mechanical device used to measure and compare the pressure of gases. It consists of a cylindrical chamber connected to a gauge that shows the measured pressure. When a gas is introduced into the chamber, it pushes against a piston, which in turn presses against a spring or other mechanism that drives the gauge's needle. The gauge is calibrated to show the pressure in units such as pounds per square inch (psi) or bar. By comparing the readings on the gauge with standard values, technicians can determine whether a gas is leaking or not.
