Pistol Grip Monopod
prusaprinters
Got a rifle that needs a little more support in the rear, but constantly forget to grab your rear bag when heading to the range? Well, congrats on having the exact same problem as me. Modeled after the Magnetospeed GripPod system (which has now been discontinued), you can print your own monopod that travels with the rifle. If it can bolt on a standard AR15 pistol grip, thisll probably workWhile the design can be entirely 3d printed, a 3d printed screw probably wont hold up to the recoil of most rifles, and its highly recommended that you use a metal screw. Unfortunately, to keep the foot of the monopod non-rotating, a length of threaded rod with a keyway cut into it is needed. I have no idea if this is available commercially, ive got a mill so i made my own. I advise that you make friends with a machine shop, or try the printed screw and see if it worksI recommend using a good impact-resistant filament and at least 3 walls, specially if you use this on heavier caliber rifles. The monopod foot sees a decent bit of energy on shooting, go to light and youre going to crack something. I used ASA for the main body of the one pictured and recommend you do the same
