To manage the speed controller on my skateboard, I installed a potentiometer and a spring for functionality. Refer to the image of the device without its top part. Insert the potentiometer into the rear hole, secure the spring at the handle's base, and loop a string around it. Attach the string to the knob using superglue, then connect it to the trigger and ensure it returns to zero when released.
