Pirate swashbuckler sword, theater prop
thingiverse
Looking for a theater prop sword? Your daughter's "Peggy the pint-sized pirate" school play calls for a 60cm or two-feet long, with the longest part measuring about 250mm. Print it using PLA on a Mendelmax with Maker's Tool Works build platform. Make sure to leave the hilt bottom open for your daughter to insert an ornament. For secure connections, plastic weld the sword's lower half to the hilt and the puzzle piece between upper and lower blade parts. Note that printing at .1 infill makes it lightweight but potentially breakable during use, so take this into consideration when heating for welding.
