Pirate Ship
thingiverse
I'm telling my 4-year-old daughter about the #MakeItFloat challenge. She says she wants to get involved, but can we build a pirate ship? This is the current result. Instructions My first prototype printed on an Up Plus at 0.2mm layer depth and loose fill weighs 50 grams, but it won't float upright without ballast. I managed to make 114g of Australian coins float by improving the design. The hull prints pretty much without support, only requiring support for the deck slide, and the holes for the railing to glue into place. Choose which hull file you prefer, Hull02nocham is just the bare hull, whereas Hull03 has vertical barriers running along the length of the ship for added compartments. Both masts have holes for 'sewing' sails onto, but they didn't turn out right in the first prototype. The front spike isn't working as intended currently. Masts require support as they print at a 90-degree angle to upright. The deck needs support for the railing at the top, and surprisingly the wheel printed okay on my printer. The railing should be printed upside down to avoid support requirements.
With this file you will be able to print Pirate Ship with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Pirate Ship.
