I recently purchased the Pirate Radio kit from Pimoroni and felt compelled to add some rear protection to it. First, I apologize for the inconsistent material thickness - this project was constructed using scraps I had lying around. Tools Required: Lasercutter Sander or Dremel to smooth out the bottom surface Materials Used: 3mm Plywood 4mm Plywood 6mm Plywood The layer names in the SVG file provide clear instructions on required thickness and assembly location. Begin by inserting Plate1, which fits snugly into the screws, then proceed with layers 2-8. Finally, insert the two grips (4mm) to secure everything in place. If all components fit together seamlessly, you can start gluing the layers together. In my setup, layers 1 and 2 are loosely attached (held by a screw), while the remaining layers are glued securely in place. As a final step, use a sander or Dremel tool to sand the bottom surface to your desired level of smoothness. Potential Improvements: The two grips at the end could be enhanced with a hole or hook, allowing you to hang the radio somewhere. However, keep in mind that the base is still open.
