Pirate Hook
thingiverse
My kid wanted a Halloween costume hook, so I made one that's strong and comfortable enough for him to hold onto without me having to carry it. The hook gets thicker as you go up for added strength, and the hex-shaped grip is designed for comfort. Two weeks in, he's still using it nonstop to pick things up and swing from objects, and it shows no signs of wear. I went through three different cup designs, all of which are available online if people want different sizes. The small one was comfy but didn't cover his hand entirely, while the large one looked unrealistic and would fit a small adult's hand. The middle one is slightly bigger around than the small one but deeper, hiding his hand completely and almost making it look like a stump. The cup sizes are 70mm, 75mm, and 85mm - the length of the grip inside and the inner diameter of the cup. The hook looks great on all three cups, which use the same socket so they're interchangeable. It would even work for an adult if someone wants it (I can design a bigger cup if needed).
