PIRAT metal detector / Metalldetektor / металлоискатель ПИРАТ
thingiverse
These are the parts I designed with my son for a project, giving back to the community that provides detailed instructions on the electronics part of the project. You'll need to adapt or redesign some parts to fit your needs and setup. I designed the telescopic mechanism so both me and my son can use the detector together. So far, I'm very happy with the results and performance. Kids had a blast digging in the garden for metal. If you're interested in more details about this metal detector, just Google "metal detector pirat" or visit this VK social network site: https://vk.com/metalloiscatel Assembly: You'll need to print a bolt and nut to connect the coil housing to pipe. Customize one thing to be about 12mm diameter and 80mm long (e.g., https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:193647). I also suggest using super glue to attach nuts into corresponding sockets, but make sure no glue gets into the thread. The spool housing is meant to be assembled by zipties. Some notes on the parts I used: -handle from a forearm crutch -EN16 and EN20 pipes for electric installations -M3 bolts and nuts for connections -Layout 2 PIRAT board from the VK group (see link above) -speaker from a musicman mini -mini digital voltage display from eBay -4x2xAWG24 solid copper core twisted-pair-cable for coil -8x AA 1.5V Battery Pack (12V) -3mm LEDs I'll post more pics and information in the makes.
