The Pirani display is a type of vacuum gauge used to measure the pressure in a sealed chamber. It works by detecting changes in the ion current between two electrodes. The device consists of a cathode and an anode, with the cathode being heated to produce ions. As the pressure increases, the ion current decreases. This decrease in ion current is proportional to the pressure in the chamber.
