PIRANHAZ ABS
thingiverse
A compact version of the PIRANHAZ (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1734347) designed for printing with ABS.\nI divided the model into two parts, printed them separately and then joined them together using a strong adhesive. This process can be done with any software that allows editing STL files, such as Blender, MeshMixer or other similar programs. I used IceSL, which is similar to OpenSCAD but has a lua scripting language and real-time rendering of objects.\nI didn't include an STL file because the PIRANHAZ thing's license prohibits the redistribution of remixes. To ensure you remember this, I selected the same license for my version.\nThe attached lua file can be opened in IceSL, but you'll need to adjust the path to the original model (drag and drop it into the text editor and you'll have the correct path). This script takes a few slices of the original model and combines them to create a very slim piranha with a moderate bite force. If you need more force, simply make it thicker. The STL file can be exported and sliced using your preferred slicer; there's no need to use IceSL's internal slicer.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter:\nQidi Avatar IV\nRafts: No\nSupports: No\nResolution: 0.2mm layer height\nInfill: 100%\nPost-Printing\nCleanup task if necessary:\nMost likely the levers will have glued partially to the body due to the thin design. It should be possible to break them free without much effort using a small screwdriver or knife. Then you should have two working parts.\nGluing the two parts together:\nUse any suitable adhesive. I always use acetone (read and follow the safety instructions) with ABS. Apply a very thin layer of glue to each part and then join the parts together.\n(Acetone dissolves ABS, be careful not to use too much. If you're new to using this glue, try it on some spare material first to ensure you know how to apply the right amount.)
With this file you will be able to print PIRANHAZ ABS with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on PIRANHAZ ABS.
