Piranha Plant is a recurring enemy species in the Super Mario franchise. They are known as Pygmy Piranha Plants in New Super Mario Bros. U and Super Mario Maker 2, and are first introduced as regular enemies in World 1-2 of Super Mario Bros.. They resemble small piranhas with large teeth, hence their name.
