Pipette tip sorting device 'Elster' for 10 µL pipette tips
thingiverse
This pipette tip sorting device rapidly sorts and transfers 10 microliter pipette tips to a storage box, making manual sorting redundant. To operate fully, four magnets with a diameter of 3 millimeters and height of 2 millimeters are required. The device was designed for Sarstedt's 10 microliter neutral pipette tips (order number 701130) as seen in the picture. Although it may work with other tips, I do not guarantee this and suggest measuring your tips to ensure a proper fit. The critical aspect is the width directly under the tip head edge, where they will ride on the device's rails. A parametric Fusion 360 (.f3d) file is available at https://a360.co/34lLtWk, but you'll need Fusion 360 to edit it (free). I've introduced three parameters: 'pipette tip neck diameter', which measures under the edge of the tip head; 'pipette tip belly diameter', 3 millimeters below the edge; and 'extra wide top diameter', for tips with an extra-wide width at the head. If you have a better way to make customized files accessible, I'd appreciate your help. If you provide the exact diameters at the 'neck' and 'belly' of your pipette tips, I can adjust the parameters and send you a customized design. Please include the tip brand, name, and number as well. Good luck!
