Piper 2 Alternative Endstops Mount (standstill on the gantry)
thingiverse
I designed this part specifically for my Piper 2 because I strongly dislike having wires on moving parts whenever possible. This component relocates the endstop switches to non-moving gantry areas, right next to a motor, allowing wire routing alongside motor wires. Note that for this part to function properly, firmware modifications are required (or your X gantry will crash into the Y gantry!). In Marlin, configuration_adv.h must be modified by enabling the following options: #define HOME_Y_BEFORE_X #define CODEPENDENT_XY_HOMING This component can only be installed on the motor mount with the motor facing downwards; otherwise, it may interfere with the belts. This part is designed for standard mini 13mm mechanical switches, which cost approximately $3 per 100. These switches have a 6.4mm space between their two holes and use M2 screws for mounting. To install the endstops, you'll need 7-10mm M2 screws, along with a hex M4 screw for the part. No M2 nuts are required; instead, the M2 screws tap the plastic securely in place.
