I built a DIY overhead spool holder out of a sturdy PVC water pipe, specifically 22mm in diameter. The main reason for using PVC was that I simply didn't have enough space to accommodate my MMU. Furthermore, when using an MMU, there's considerable friction generated by the spool rolling on the PVC pipe and the filament passing through it. I utilized 8mm rods along with a 608 bearing in this setup. I obtained these components from the MMU's parts collection and paired them with a design inspired by Thingiverse's https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3225855 project. The 22mm pipe features a 95mm gap between its edges, making it compatible with other smaller diameter pipes or steel rods. These rollers will securely latch onto any beams, ensuring a seamless integration into your existing setup.
