Pipe/round-bar clamp with hinge and captive nut
thingiverse
This OpenSCAD script generates a two-part, adjustable clamp that attaches objects to round bars like handlebars, canes, and pencils. The script is fully customizable with parameters for pipe diameter, clamp thickness, and hinge pin size. Radial tolerances are alterable from the default values. Users can choose to create top, bottom, or both parts by changing a boolean control variable. Mouse ears can also be added easily using another boolean control variable. The author is Mark Gaffney, and this version is 0.5a, released on July 25th, 2012. It includes fixes for bolt hole positions and shape, refined design, optional holes, and the addition of mouse-ears. To use, input dimensions into the script, generate the hinge in OpenSCAD, select options with boolean control variables, render and export the .stl file, print, clean up parts and holes, insert a hinge pin and captive nut (with optional glue or acetone), and attach to desired item for gripping onto bars or pipes.
