Pipe Flow Analysis
grabcad
In this pipe flow analysis, the cross section of a channel was examined using 5 NPS 1/8 SCH 40 steel pipes to cool stationary water. The simulation ran for 10 seconds, requiring considerable CPU time. Ambient temperature was 313.15 K, while initial and water temperatures were both 313.15 K and 281.15 K, respectively. Water flow rates were 0.00015 m^3/s (9 l/min) in the pipes and 0 m^3/s in the channel. After 10 seconds of flow, temperature decreased for both pipes and water, as seen in attached graphics. Completing this simulation took 2.5 hours of CPU time. Temperature changes are visually demonstrated in the provided animation.
