To help novice pipe fitters practice their skills, an affordable training tool called "minimum thread cut" can be printed and assembled. For a 1" SCH 40 pipe with a maximum insertion depth of 11/16", add 1/4" to the cutting length for accurate adjustments. This tool is marked, capped, and attached to a run as needed; however, it primarily serves as an educational aid rather than a functional fitting.
