I've got a 15mm pipe running vertically next to my front door where you can hang coats or anything else you need to hold. Actually, I see several UK houses have similar pipes as well. They might also be found in airing cupboards. Since designing these, I noticed that many houses do indeed use them this way. As I tested these on hot pipes, they stay put without any extra support, although a coat couldn't fit properly, maybe lighter items will work. You can print these using ABS if you're planning to hang something heavy off a hot pipe, as it doesn't shrink much and provides a snug fit. Printing in PLA causes shrinkage, which makes them too tight of a fit, but ABS shrinks less, so they may be a bit loose. Clearly, I whipped this up very quickly to show someone how easy Tinkercad is to use, but the final product still turned out great and looks good hanging from a pipe. In just one hour, I had it designed, printed, and secured on my bike to keep my coat off the paint. That counts as a great workout, right? So yes, these hooks actually double as fitness devices! If you need a tighter fit or prefer 22mm pipes, I can do that for you, and horizontal pipes shouldn't be an issue – they stay securely in place unless you want them for something dramatic like a suit of armor. If you need multiple hooks, just print more than one. As for the settings, I used 3 shells, 15% infill PLA, and it took about 30 minutes to finish.
