Pipe cap for 90mm PVC

Pipe cap for 90mm PVC

My buddy is using a 90mm PVC tube to carry his D&D playing mat around. I've come up with these end caps that fit perfectly onto the ends of the tubing, allowing him to seal both ends securely. I used screws/M3 hardware with inserts or even just a dowel for a simple and effective solution. The outside diameter is 90mm, fitting snugly into a PVC tube with an inside diameter of 87mm. There are eight external holes, each measuring 2.5mm in diameter, while the corresponding internal holes are slightly larger to accommodate M3 inserts at 3mm. This design can be scaled up or down to fit other pipes, although I haven't experimented with that yet. I've run the meshmixer inspector over the STL file and it looks flawless. You can print this using any material you prefer, even at very low quality (I used a 0.4mm layer height). Just remember to keep the infill above 20% for optimal structural results. Adding extra perimeter layers on all sides, top, and bottom will also help strengthen the design. Five or more should do the trick. Enjoy using this design, and feel free to leave a comment below if you like it!
