PIP Swivel Hook
thingiverse
This is a print-in-place (PIP) hanger designed for a 1-inch pipe, though it can be easily scaled up or down to suit individual preferences. I created this PIP hanger to tackle the challenges of hanging various closet items, which led me to two main issues: 1. The X and Y strata in a 3D print are incredibly strong, so both loops must be printed within that direction to ensure optimal functional strength. 2. For maximum efficiency and space-saving, hanging hooks with perpendicular loops are essential; parallel loops lead to long, shoulder-to-shoulder configurations that minimize closet space. This hook is designed to swivel and adapt to the unique needs of each closet, thanks to its all-X-axis primary strata structure, which provides exceptional stability. Under normal use, this hanger should be able to withstand significant pressure without breaking; however, it's not recommended to hang from it with excessive force. Interestingly, I've discovered that swiveling this hook in one's hand can be a fun and engaging experience. This realization has inspired me to design similar kinesthetic fidget toys using a variant of this same concept.
