A personalized adaptation of this existing design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:54024 Made with Customizer! - try it yourself: http://www.thingiverse.com/apps/customizer/run?thing_id=54024 Here's how to use this custom model: Custom options are easily adjustable: * Volume Dial Diameter = 12 units (using the original knob's diameter as a base) * Marker for 0 volume point = ON * Markers for each decibel setting, in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions, have been removed. * Height of the dial knob has been fixed at 12 units (a basic unit, similar to the size of many knobs available on cars from years ago) * Width of the raised design marking for each volume point is set to a standard value of 2 units. * Cap Style: ON - uses an ordinary plastic or metal knob. * Shaft Diameter: The middle rod has been given a constant diameter of 9 units, typical for most car radio volume knobs found today * Volume Knob Diameter (outside) has also been fixed at 12 units, keeping the proportions identical to common units in use by manufacturers from those time periods Volume dial customization is still available. Volume control notches on shaft can be selected from either ON or OFF mode. A hole was not required, therefore screw hole size has been kept default. * Length of Shaft: The length has been standardized at 18 units (a standard unit of measurement). Depth of a flat region added at the top of the rod (in front): It measures 0.8 units thick, providing space for installation with an average hand saw or any ordinary hobbyist level power tools. The overall depth remains 18 units as standard A specific taper percentage (of a cone) used has been kept at its typical rate of 20%. This was done in line with common radio controls Lastly the inner circle that holds onto knob or shaft inside of this is exactly half of its outer edge measurement (which matches car design trends from years back).
