Pioneer Ball Project

A single piece of a six-part ball was created in Fusion 360, whereupon Ultimaker Pioneers were tasked with taking the STL file and modifying it in any way they saw fit. This included sculpting, adding to, personalizing, or even embedding a circuit inside - the possibilities were endless. The STL file, along with the original Fusion 360 design and a spool of 3mm filament, was sent to interested Pioneers who wanted to participate in the project. After making their modifications, printing the revised part, and shipping it back to Ultimaker in New York, the magnets that would connect the pieces together would be inserted. Once assembled, Ultimaker NA will showcase these incredible creations at various events, where others can marvel at the ingenuity of our participants. Each Pioneer is documenting their design process, which will be shared on the Ultimaker website for all to see and learn from.
