Name: Chess Pieces. Made in a bunker where Jewish people from Kolomyya hid during World War II. A complete set of chess pieces made by Polish-born painter Pola Najder between 1917 and 1997 while hiding with her husband and eight others in a bunker in Kolomyya, Ukraine, during World War II. Due to lack of paint, all the pieces are the same color. To distinguish black from white pieces, half of them were marked with an "X" on their underside.
