Information about the object: Name: Chess Set. Created in a bunker where during World War II Jewish people from Kolomyya hid. A complete set of chess pieces made by Pola Najder (1917-97) during World War II when she and her husband along with eight others hid in a bunker in Kolomyia. Due to lack of access to paint all the chess pieces are the same color. To distinguish between black and white, half of them were marked from underneath with an "X" sign.
