The Pinta, meaning 'the pint,' 'the look,' or 'the spotted one,' was the swiftest of the three Christopher Columbus vessels during his initial 1492 transatlantic voyage. Rodrigo de Triana first spotted the New World on October 12, 1492, aboard the Pinta. Cristobal Quintero owned the ship, with the Quintero brothers hailing from Palos and acting as ship owners. Martin Alonso Pinzon took command of the caravel-type vessel while Quintero kept an eye on it. Although traditionally Spanish vessels were named after saints and given nicknames, the actual name of the Pinta remains a mystery. The ship's origin is debated but is presumed to have been constructed in Spain in 1441 and later refurbished for Columbus' use. The textures measure 2048x2048 pixels and were crafted using Blender 3D, rendered with Cycles.
