pinning tray in padlock shape
thingiverse
This is a cutting-edge design for a pinning tray that I conceptualized after engaging in an animated conversation with a friend about innovative tray designs. The tray takes the form of a padlock, features seven slots for pins and one for the plug, and boasts two holes on the front for pinning followers (small and medium) as well as a slot at the top for the key. I created a white prototype using my 3D printer with 10% infill and a layer height of 0.3mm, resulting in a slightly rough texture but still requiring six hours to print. This process also utilized a considerable amount of material. As of February 2018, I printed another version of the tray in UV-light active green color with a layer height of 0.2mm and 7% infill, which took seven hours and twenty minutes to complete on my relatively slow printer. To ensure optimal results, I highly recommend printing the tray without cooling in PLA, as this will prevent it from lifting or warping during the printing process. Have fun experimenting with this design!
